Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein.

Oscar Hammerstein II (1895-1960) was an American producer, writer, and director of musicals. As a lyricist, he collaborated with Jerome Kern, Sigmund Romberg, Otto Harbach and, most famously, Richard Rodgers.

  • A film version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Pipe Dream, based on John Steinbeck's novel Sweet Thursday, was once proposed to star the the Muppets.[1]
