Added by Wattamack4"One Way" is a Sesame Street song that spoofs the Shangri-La song "Leader of the Pack". It tells the story of a greaser who can't get to his girlfriend's house because of a "One Way" sign on the road. He thinks his relationship is ruined, until his guardian angel comes and shows him an alternate route he can take. The greaser's initial desperation -- "I'm so lonely I wish I was dead", he mourns -- turns to happiness, as the greaser and his girlfriend ride around the block on his motorcycle.
Notes
- The song is performed by Little Chrissy and the Alphabeats, as credited on album releases. The televised segment features a Green Anything Muppet greaser in place of Little Chrissy, and a trio of AMs (two of whom look like the Alphabeats) as his greaser friends. Although the TV and record versions are distinctly different recordings, the performers are the same in both versions.
