"Old King Midas" is a song sung by Roosevelt Franklin, recounting the legend of King Midas, who was granted a special power, so that everything he touched would turn to gold. At first this seemed like a good thing, since he could turn things like his chair into gold. However, his food and water also turned to gold when he touched them. Then he realized that he would no longer be able to eat and drink anything anymore, which made all of his gold completely useless to him.
