Old Joe is a large, multi-limbed spider who acts as a fence, dividing up Scrooge's belongings, in The Muppet Christmas Carol. He later has a cameo as a pirate in Muppet Treasure Island where he is performed by Jerry Nelson.
He hits on his two female assistants often, particulary the Laundress.
