"Oklahoma" is the closing number from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Oklahoma! It is also the state song of Oklahoma. The song has been parodied by the Muppets on several occasions.

The Muppet Show

  • performed by Fozzie, the Mutations, and Japanese Whatnots on episode 317. When Fozzie comes onstage dressed as a cowboy to sing the opening number, he finds himself on a Japanese-themed set, dodging swords wielded by the Mutations dressed as samurai. The number consequently turns from "Oklahoma" to "Yokohama."

Sesame Street

  • performed by Forgetful Jones in a 1988 sketch. When Kermit tries to stage a production of Oklahoma!, Forgetful Jones can't remember the vowel sound at the beginning of the word and sings "Aklahoma," "Eeklahoma," and "Iklahoma" instead.
