Officer Caruthers is a policeman who lives next door to Nanny on Muppet Babies. In the episode "Noisy Neighbors", the babies have to be quiet because Officer Caruthers is trying to sleep, after working a night shift.

In "Fine Feathered Enemies," he appears on camera for the first time, when he comes over to adopt Polly the parrot.

He also has a pet mouse that the Babies watch over in "Of Mice and Muppets" and a kitten that the Babies watch over in "Puss 'n Boots 'n Babies".
