Nurse Nightingale is the nurse of Dr. Staywell in the Sesame Street book Big Bird Goes to the Doctor. She forgets that Big Bird has feathers when she asks him to take off his clothes, but measures his height and weight with out a problem. She comments that Big Bird is the biggest kid she's ever seen, and continually calls the doctor away to see other patients, such as Cookie Monster with a stomach ache, or Grover with an injured arm.

Her name is a nod to Florence Nightingale, famed English nurse and statistician.
