• The Muppet Show writer Don Hinkley was born in Richmond, North Carolina.

• Wilmington, North Carolina was used as a filming location in Muppets from Space and The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland. In the latter, Wilmington portrayed Sesame Street.

• John Crichton, the main character of Farscape, was born in North Carolina.

• Charlotte, NC is home to HeroesCon, a convention for which Roger Langridge provided an exclusive variant cover for The Muppet Show Comic Book #1, as well as his own parody of Doctor Who featuring the Muppets for the convention booklet.
