Norman Rockwell (1894 - 1978) was a contempory American painter famous for his covers of the Saturday Evening Post.
The Muppets spoofed his Thanksgiving dinner painting "Freedom From Want" for a Saturday Evening Post cover in 1981.
Sesame Street artist Joe Mathieu spoofed Rockwell's "Triple Self-Portrait", with Grover in place of the artist, in Sesame Street Magazine issue 103 (June 1981).
Rockwell's painting "Gay Blades" was spoofed by Bert on the back cover of Sesame Street Magazine issue 130 (December 1983).
