"My Name" is a song that was originally written for David to sing, usually with one or two other cast members. It is frequently titled "My Name is David" on early albums. It is a song about pride in being oneself. A sample lyric is "David's my name, and I'm proud that it's mine."
In addition to David, it has been sung by:
- Grover (EKA: Episode 0748),
- Susan, Gordon, Maria and Bob
- Maya Angelou, Elmo, Carlo, and Lexine (EKA: Episode 3139),
- Alan, Zoe, and Devon (Episode 3789).
Sheet music for the song was included in "The Sesame Street Song Book."
