Famed German toy company Steiff released a Kermit the Frog plush doll, made of mohair. The high-end collectible was released in June 2009, for a suggested retail price of $265.00.

In December 2010, the company released a plush of Fozzie Bear for a suggested retail price of $310.00 (offered on sale for $279.00). He is released as a "2011 North American Limited Edition."

Jim Henson briefly demonstrated puppetry on a small bear puppet in the 1969 special The Muppets Make Puppets, referring to the company as "Steiff, the people who make the little stuffed dolls, you know."
