Is there enough material to support a Through the Looking Glass page? The current Alice's Adventures in Wonderland page doesn't adequately address the other book and how elements have been conflated, but since their conflation applies to nearly every Muppet/Creature Shop Alice production... Unless you want to break both pages up into lists of characters used by the Muppets/Henson or something, which might work. --Andrew Leal (talk) 03:45, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Dreamchild is the only one that's all from Wonderland; Alice in Wonderland (film) and The Muppet Show mix and match. Sad News

I got my hands on Elmo's World: Balls the other day (innuendo intended) and I'm sorry to say that Elmo doesn't sing "Balls balls balls..." at the end. He sings "Ball ball ball..." with the word "BALL" on the screen. 'Tis a sad day in Muppetdom. — Joe (talk) 20:11, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Policies and Guidelines

Hey, take a look at a new page I'm trying to put together: Muppet Wiki:Policies and Guidelines. It occured to me that we don't really have a place on the wiki to point to when we tell someone "well, that's just not the way we do things here." It would also come in handy in the hypothetical situation in the future were something to take Danny, Andrew, you and I away from the wiki. — Scott (talk) 20:58, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Yay

You're here! Good. I'm headed for bed soon. As you may have noticed, the woods are full of cuckoos tonight. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 02:34, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

I noticed. You think about what I said on Category talk:Sesame Street Episodes? I should leave notes on Danny, Scott, and Guillermo's talk pages asking them to comment, too. -- Peter (talk) 02:54, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
I already left my remarks there early on, and that's about all I have to say on it. As I said, I'm of mixed views. I agree it can be excessive, but I like the way it works on Sesame Street Pitch Reel, where the changes are such that an "Edits" section isn't really appropriate. On the other hand, Guillermo suddenly added green to the palate, and it took me awhile to figure out that apparently he was using it for scenes that were used in both but where either something was deleted or dialogue and performance were changed. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 03:05, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

You suck

See Talk:Muppet Survivor. -- Danny (talk) 01:48, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

That is seriously awesome. — Scott (talk) 02:09, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
Oh, I am the very devil, aren't I? For real, though, there's nothing in the article that isn't factual. I say we keep it. -- Peter (talk) 05:12, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm giving you a thirty-second suspension. Go sit in the corner. -- Danny (talk) 01:01, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Bein' Green

Nice! It looks awesome. — Scott (talk) 19:26, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. Mostly, I just clicked on "What Links Here" and compiled everything, but I think it's a little better organized now than it used to be. We could use some more information and a whole bunch more pictures, though. -- Peter (talk) 20:18, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Images

Hey Pantalones, I was wondering what pictures does the Wiki need updated such as blury pictures along with dark pictures. Phillip 18:49, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Balls balls balls

I didn't think we needed to make it so explicit on "Jingle Bells," re Elmo's World, but it amuses me considerably that you did. And that you chose "Balls" as your example. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 01:35, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

I didn't do it because I thought we needed to make it explicit. I did it because it was AWESOME! -- Peter (talk) 14:17, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Does this mean you finally sat through an Elmo's World episode? -- Andrew Leal (talk) 15:06, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Of course not! -- Peter (talk) 15:14, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Still, you got the meter right. I'm still not sure how the stress would have worked in, say, "Elmo's World: Bananas." And, shamefully, as best as I can recall, "Cookie World" did not include a chorus of "The Cookie Song." Wait, double checking the Wiki, it did! Cookie cookie/cookie cookie/cookie cookie cookie! -- Andrew Leal (talk) 15:53, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Just Squeeze Me

Hey Peter -- did you have some official reason for changing the title of this? Its legal title is "Just Squeeze Me" in ASCAP... with the Just Squeeze Me (Don't Tease Me) as a variation. -- Wendy (talk) 16:53, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Oops. I was looking through the Duke Ellington official website, and it listed it as having the parenthetical. My bad. -- Peter (talk) 16:55, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

You're number 2!

Hey, babe: I know the stats are important to you, so I hope you'll enjoy this -- I just added a "Top 10 posters of the month" list to the Top 25 page. Now your dominance can be truly celebrated. -- Danny (talk) 17:31, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Gunsmoke

Hi, Peter! As regards Miss Kitty, I corrected your last correction, but now the sentence reads "As Rowlf walked through the saloon, he greeted the monster as "Miss Kitty," a reference to saloon girl Kitty Russell from the radio and television Western series Gunsmoke." Would it be all right if I just shortened that to "Western series"? Just using television series doesn't work for me, as "Miss Kitty" had first been established for years on radio, but the current phrasing is a bit unwieldy. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 23:23, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Alice

Hey, great work on Alice in Wonderland and The March Hare (Muppet Show). It's always nice to provide a clearer context for Muppet adaptations of other characters/historical figures (I probably need to do something like that for The Duchess, with a little more explanation of the literary context for the throwaway baby/pig switch on the show). -- Andrew Leal (talk) 18:16, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

And I've never even seen the episode! Just the bits on the Playhouse Video. But my question was going to be: should we have a separate page for the March Hare (and Mad Hatter, etc.) as a reference, and then one for each portrayal? I mean, isn't there at least one more in Alice in Wonderland (film)? -- Peter (talk) 19:51, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
I wouldn't separate them until we actually have pages for them, and I'm not sure Martin Short's portrayal of the Mad Hatter deserves its own page, or rather, I'm not sure there's enough to say about it. It goes back to our unresolved question on Talk:Pinocchio. Personally, if the reference is to the work in general, even if the work and the title character are eponymous, I say disambiguate, as otherwise it tends to limit detailed discussion of the actual characterization and instead becomes just a blanket list, mixing spoofs and other Muppets in the roles with presentations of the literal characters (Hansel and Gretel comes to mind). But I'm not sure there's a lot of value gained in having, in addition to potentially three March Hare pages, a separate "March Hare (reference)" page. Scott turned The March Hare into a disambiguation page, and that seems good enough for me. Any specific details about other portrayals can either be a general see also, or best yet, go on the main Alice in Wonderland page. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 23:03, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
I agree, although it is a little different from Pinocchio isasmuch as we aren't talking about title characters. But it seems silly to put general information on the March Hare on the Alice in Wonderland page. Or does it? Because otherwise, we'd probably have to duplicate the general March Hare information on every March Hare page - and as I understand it, the one from Alice in Wonderland (film) is a Creature and deserves his own page. -- Peter (talk) 14:31, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
I just don't think creating a separate page is the answer. Either put it all on each page, or if Scott will allow, on the disambiguation page, or provide a character summary on Alice in Wonderland. I mean why not? Have a sub-section for the characters who are most often depicted in the relevant productions (Hatter, Hare, maybe the Dormouse, as there's two creatures of that and one chicken). By the way, you'll have to get Scott or someone to remove the watermarks, but there's a slew of images from the 1999 Alice here. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 14:40, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Fie

Fie on ye and your disruptive penchant for "disambiguation" such that it must force action upon innocent articles! The falcon shall fly south at midnight, and the dyspeptic toad cross your shoulders. Wear a pink carnation and drink tea. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 00:43, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi

Hey, sorry for not contributing for the last few days...it's because I went back to school. =\ Ffeifanc 01:35, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

Looking Glass

Is there enough material to support a Through the Looking Glass page? The current Alice's Adventures in Wonderland page doesn't adequately address the other book and how elements have been conflated, but since their conflation applies to nearly every Muppet/Creature Shop Alice production... Unless you want to break both pages up into lists of characters used by the Muppets/Henson or something, which might work. --Andrew Leal (talk) 03:45, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm not it's a good idea to separate them, but the differences need to be addressed. And so long as the page is titled Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, it's misleading. I was thinking we could have both books redirect to the more generic Alice in Wonderland and have separate headings for each book. -- Peter (talk) 03:47, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
I'd prefer that. Alice in Wonderland already redirects to both. Dreamchild is the only one that's all from Wonderland; Alice in Wonderland (film) and The Muppet Show mix and match. I'm still not sure how separate headings would work, though, in light of that, unless again, you wanted to detail specifically which characters/sequences came from which book. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 03:54, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Yay

Yay for alphabetizing the alphabet! This almost makes up for ruining Frazzle for me! Huzzah! -- Andrew Leal (talk) 04:52, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Current events

Hey babe: When you get a chance, please come check out the discussion about character lists on Current events... I'd like to have your input. Thanks! -- Danny (talk) 19:45, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

thanks

Hi Peter, thanks for the help with my first additions to Wiki. Marcus clarke 05:49, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Manhattan Melodies

Hey, I saw you red-linked Manhattan Melodies, which is cool. The problem is, once created, where would the page go? I've been debating whether to create a category for fictional movies, plays, and TV shows in Muppet/Henson shows (someone already added a bunch to Category:Dinosaurs Culture). I'm not sure if we want them all bunched together, though. Alternately, a generic theater-theme category, for things like Prairie Dawn's Pageants, etc. Thoughts? -- Andrew Leal (talk) 22:40, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

That question is too hard! -- Peter (talk) 22:46, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
But I'll think about it. -- Peter (talk) 22:46, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Religion and Politics

Religion and Politics: the two taboo dinner-table subjects on Muppet Wiki! I have more new entries to add for both, but if you have time away from the episode navigation and so forth, feel free to pitch in and help categorize the existing entries. (I need to get back to housecleaning). -- Andrew Leal (talk) 19:03, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Ep nav

Hey sweets: Before you do all the early Sesame episodes, check out my question on Category talk:Sesame Street Episodes. -- Danny (talk) 13:49, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

I think the ep-nav stuff on the Sesame pages is awesome, by the way. Very helpful and cool. -- Danny (talk) 16:50, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. I've noticed that the SS pages are all over the place, style-wise. Want to fix that, even if we don't have a complete guide for the episode. -- Peter (talk) 17:33, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Number Six

Check the Top 25, baby. -- Danny (talk) 22:56, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Re: Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome, Peter. =] And my name's Frank. Ffeifanc 12:35, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Greased Lightning

Peter! We've missed you! Anyway, what's your source on Greased Lightning? It's true Grease had opened on Broadway in 1972, and the film would open three months after the episode debuted. However, the phrase "faster than greased lightning" or "just like greased lightning" had been part of the popular vernacular as far as the 1840s. Is there a source or context to indicate that the song and Grease were the *specific* motivation for the name choice? Andrew Leal (talk) 03:46, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I got nothing. Oops. -- Peter (talk) 13:40, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Tracking AOL IPs

There's some good news for us on this Wikia forum page... In the next software upgrade, we're going to be able to see the actual IP addresses for AOL users, rather than the randomly fluctuating ones that we've been seeing. That'll make tracking vandals and anonymous pests much easier; we won't have to block the same person a hundred times. I dunno when the upgrade is going to happen, but when it does, it'll be sweet like candy. -- Danny (talk) 09:54, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Wikia branding survey

Hey babe: I just responded to Wikia's branding survey -- they're using Wikia contributors as a focus group to help them grow as a company. The survey takes a while to fill out, but I think it's worth it. Whatever their plans are for the future, I'd like to have our voices heard as part of the planning. Here's my responses to the survey, if you're interested. I'm also posting this to Andrew and Scott. -- Danny (talk) 18:18, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

The Prodigal Pantalones

Can this be? Is it the Pantalones, back in action? -- Danny (talk) 14:18, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Si si, oui oui, und ja vol! In the wiki wiki wiki wiki wiki room... -- Peter (talk) 14:28, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
