Template:Attn-nav This project page is for the discussion of identifying the name used for a particular character. In most cases, we're looking for an officially used name, or one that can be cited on-screen. If such sources don't exist, an attempt will be made to name the article appropriately if such an article is necessary to create in the first place.

Solved cases go to "Name That Puppet: Solved," while open cases will remain here until such time as can be decided what to do with the character (create a page, merge with another article, etc). If a particular case comes to the conclusion that no page will be created for the alleged character, it will be archived in the Solved section.

Little Creature from Thra

This hairy creature lives in Thra. It appears in the begining of The Dark Crystal. Looks like a cross between a ground squirrel and a caterpillar. Does anybody know if it has ever been named? BlueFrackle 22:13, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Unknown Woodland Animal

I've been trying to figure out what the animal in the tree in the first picture and to the right of Rita in the second picture is. On my talk page, Andrew suggested that "It looks like some kind of weasel, something in the mustelide family anyway. Though I can't judge very well from just that still, it looks rather like a ferret or at least a close relation." Having looked at that image on Wikipedia, I'd agree that this unknown Woodland Animal was indeed a ferret (Muppet weasels have a different look). Thoughts? -- Peter (talk) 18:38, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

ADEG Supermarkets Rooster

Oz Bunnies

These two rabbits are seen in The Muppets' Wizard of Oz. I'd initially assumed they were recycled from Tale of the Bunny Picnic, but they don't seem to match any of those we have here. Between Zoot and Crazy Harry

Anyone have a name for the puppet sitting between Zoot and Crazy Harry in this shot from It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie? I'm guessing it's some obscure Muppets Tonight character that I'm totally unfamiliar with, but it's the only puppet in the audeince in that scene that I can't seem to place. -- Peter (talk) 17:37, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

This is Zeke he is from The Muppet Theatre jugband: Lobbuck Lou & His Jug Huggers in the jug band he played banjo. He was performed by Jim Henson when he was on The Muppet Show.

He looks nothing like Zeke. Zeke had yellow hair and a big yellow beard, and this guy only has long brown hair (I think it's brown. Hard to tell what color it is by this picture). Also, that Muppet had a nose that looks like it's obviously sculpted to his face, and Zeke had a round-ish red nose which looks like it's a seperate piece, and the heads are shaped differently. Not to mention the fact that this guy has grey skin, and Zeke had pink skin. --Minor muppetz 04:21, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

The same character does appear in Muppets from Space. Other than that, I have no idea where that particular design comes from. He's the same puppet as One-Eyed Jack, and a whatnot with that design is used during The Muppet Show, such as Burlington Bertie. --Justin 21:11, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

He's not Mr. Bitte. I recently saw the film: the guy doesn't have beady eyes, and the hairdo wouldn't make a difference because of the cheeks. Also, the color isn't the same. Personally, I think he's a character made for the film.-- User:TenCents 13:58, 6 March 2009 (UTC).

Pink Preppy Monster

This monster caught my eye while watching Follow that Bird. He's seen in the background of the opening street scene. He doesn't look familiar to me. Dr. Teeth Lookalike

I was Watching the Muppet show Pitch reel on the Muppet show Season one DVD, and I noticed a Muppet character who looked like Dr. Teeth. was this an early version of him or was it the character who would later become him?-- 2009Crbeverlin 11:28, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Are you guys talking about the same puppet? As far as the Dr. Teeth lookalike, I figured it was just Dr. Teeth, modified slightly to more closely resemble a "long-haired dirty hippie." Little Chrissy look-alike Monster

Does anybody know if the lead singing monster from the song "Frazzle" has a name? He looks like a monster version of Little Chrissy and was performed by Christopher Cerf. I know that Christopher Cerf is a member here. maybe he will see this and tell us. --Minor muppetz 23:03, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Id Character?

Is the guy at the bottom of the image from The Wizard of Id? It looks like one of those characters... -- Warrick 18:56, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

No. The Id characters looked less "Muppet"y. He looks more like a standard whatnot to me, probably a party guest in Hey Cinderella! given the other puppets being worked on in those pictures. There were only three Id puppets, The King of Id, The Wizard, and The Spook. The King resembles the character as he appeared in the comics in the 1960s, with a pinched nose and with red yarn hair; Wiz has an orange nose and beard and again matches the comic; the Spook is green an dlooks like he may have been refurbished from a monster puppet, but I'm not sure which one. My guess would be that it's a failed Kathy Mullen character from the 1980s. She's seen in a 1980s episode holding the Street sign, and back then all the performers had at least one regular character: (Brian Muehl had Elmo and Telly, Michael Earl Davis had Snuffy, and Karen Prell had Deena, but Kathy had no regular character. -- MuppetDude 14:29, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

This guy is purple, has a rather tall head, has teeth sticking out, has orange hair, and wears a monacle. He was a pirate in Muppet Treasure Island (where he was performed by Jerry Nelson), and he was a flying monkey in The Muppets Wizard of Oz. I'm afraid he ain't any of the above! I haven't been able to fill in their blank pages yet, but they're all live actors. He may be like Beggar or Undertaker, where no name is available. On the Muppet Treasure Island computer game, Spotted Dick addresses this character as "Calico." I would guess that's a shortened version of his name, though, since he in turn calls Spotted Dick "Spotty." TogetherAgain 15:47, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

in the credits under "pirates" one of the names is buttler, that name fits.

I was looking at this article, which lists casting information on characters in The Muppets' Wizard of Oz, and noticed (actually noticed long before the wiki started) that under the section on "characters who do not have lines in the script" (and some of those characters DID get lines in the finished movie) there's a character listed as "Calico Jack". Not sure if that's him, or what the source for that article was, but most of the characters listed in that article ended up appearing in the film (Crasher and Bobo the Bear are the only listed characters NOT in the film). --Minor muppetz 04:18, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

She has a page as Svengali's Assistant. I'm not sure if that's a real name or one used for convenience on the wiki. That page says she is performed by Eren Ozker, but I suspect it may be wrong. The Peter Ustinov episode page says that the pink version of her (called "Monster Girl") was performed by Cynthia Adler, and Eren Ozker did the final, non-pink magician version at the end of the number. Cynthia Adler's page refers to her as a "Pink Creature". It would probably be good to pick one name and stick with it throughout the wiki at least... -- Merrystar (talk) 05:30, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
