In 1979, the German company Schleich released a series of 13 Muppet Show PVC figures.
The following characters were made:
- Kermit the Frog, sitting on a box and waving
- Miss Piggy, wearing a light blue gown, holding up one hand
- Fozzie Bear, arms spread out
- Gonzo, pointing upwards
- Rowlf, hands on back
- Animal, slouching with hands between knees
- Scooter, holding notepad under his arm and pointing upwards
- Statler, holding one hand in front of him
- Waldorf, leaning on cane
- Sam the Eagle, pointing upwards
- Swedish Chef, holding spoon and chicken on plate
- Sweetums, holding club
- Zoot, playing saxophone
Zoot is the rarest of the series.
Schleich also released versions of the figures standing on German and Dutch text bases. Fozzie's Dutch base read: "What, another year older already? Best Wishes!" Sweetums' German base read: "I love you so much I could eat you!"
In America, the figures were sold at the Muppet Stuff store. They could also be ordered through Muppet Magazine.
Statler and Waldorf were rereleased by Igel in 2000. They came in a cardboard theater box that read: "Die beiden Alten aus der Muppet Show!" (the two old men from the Muppet Show).
Schleich also made a series of Schleich Muppet Babies Figures and Schleich Fraggle Rock Figures.
