Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear and Miss Piggy spend Christmas Eve at the country house of Fozzie's mother, Emily Bear. They decorate the Christmas tree, and Piggy hangs an extra-large stocking by the fireplace.

As the book ends, the Muppet friends are pleased to see Santa Claus coming down the chimney with a bag full of presents.
