Mr. Applegate is a tenant who pleads with Ebenezer Scrooge in The Muppet Christmas Carol. Behind on his mortgage payments, the nervous Mr. Applegate repeatedly begs Scrooge not to shout at him, while relating his family's woes, such as little Gwen's lungs not working right, before being flung bodily out the door. He then thanks Scrooge for not shouting at him.
