Miriam Margolyes (b. 1941) is a British character actress who provided the voice of Fly the sheepdog in Babe and appeared as Sophie the maid in Cats & Dogs. Her film credits include the Nurse in Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet, Peter Sellers' mother in The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, and Professor Sprout in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Television work includes multiple roles on Black Adder, Mrs. Price Ridley in Agatha Christie's Murder at the Vicarage, and a guest spot on Dharma & Greg. On radio, she played Stiffy Byng opposite Michael Hordern's Jeeves in the BBC's version of Wodehouse's Code of the Woosters.
