The Million Muppet March is a protest against Presidential candidate Mitt Romney's plans to cancel government funds towards public television, including Sesame Street. The march will take place November 3rd, 2012, three days before the presidential elections.
The concept arose when Chris Mecham and Michael Bellavia had the same idea when watching the presidential debate. Bellavia bought a web domain after Mecham made a Facebook page, coincidentally under the same name: Million Muppet March. All attendees are encouraged to bring a puppet. The march will take place at the National Mall in DC from 9am until noon.
