Mike is the owner of Mike's Bakery, as seen in a sketch with Cookie Monster. The I in the sign of his establishment has the misfortune of having been eaten by Cookie Monster when the latter is on the prowl to eat something that rhymes with "buy". Mike's tie is also lost during this Cookie Monster encounter as he is unable to come up with a more suitable item to rhyme. When it appears his product is at last about to serve its purpose — to be consumed by a grateful customer — Cookie Monster begins chasing Guy Smiley around the bakery, trying to eat him instead of Mike's pie.
