  • Hi Nick. Just a quick question, where does this image come from? I only ask because I haven't seen a lot of Muppet related images of the show on Google, so I wasn't sure if it was official or someone online made it. Thanks!

  • Hi Nick. I'e reverted your recent changes related to Potto and Sesame Tree. Please feel free to add them back when you provide some context and/or sources.

  • Hi Nick, I've had to clean up your recent contributions to puppets included in the Canadian museum exhibit. Please review the wiki's policy on the FAQ about adhering to NPOV and citing sources over speculation and guesswork. Thanks!

    • Hi, I've been told in separate emails from Ingenium and the CBC executive quoted in the article below that the props, costumes, and puppets in their holdings are not going to Ingenium. The article below only goes as far to say that Ottawa I'd getting "many" of the items.

    • If we have a source that comes from email communication, please cite it as "email communication between [cited party] and User:Zanimum" and the date. But please avoid phrases like, "the current whereabouts of [or future plans for] said item is currently unknown." It reaches into the speculation area. Just go with what we know, so in this case, "the puppet was on display until 2017" or whatever. Thanks!

  • Hi! I'm trying to figure out some confusing info that we have on The Art of the Muppets (exhibit) and Jim Henson's Muppets Monsters and Magic. They're two touring exhibits that may have overlapped, and may have gone through several name changes -- it's not clear right now what the difference is between them.

Way back in 2006, you posted here that "The Art of the Muppets" was at London Regional Children's Museum, London, Ontario in 1990 -- a year or two after Karen Falk said the tour ended. It's possible that stop was actually the "Muppets Monsters & Magic" tour instead.

Do you happen to remember where that info came from? If you've got a flyer/picture/whatever, that would be great.

The forum thread where I'm working on this is Thread:242440 -- it gets a bit long and complex. :) I'd love any help or thoughts you have. Thanks!

  • Hi Nick, what's your source for this?

    • I watched the Canadian broadcast of the program. I believe that they did that format for various celebs. -- Zanimum (talk) 23:26, August 27, 2017 (UTC)

    • I'm seeing there's been further edits to the mention since I first posted. The claim that they were promoting the show is a bit of a toss up. They probably had an on-screen graphic saying their names, and underneath saying their program. But the whole thing was all of ten seconds, to my memory. They did not verbally hawk the show.

  • Hey, I rolled back the last change to Canada as it added some bad code to the page. Can you try again and preview changes before saving?

    • That would be the editing interface on an iPhone. Sorry 'bout that.

  • Nick, your additions to the wiki have been troublesome for some time, and I haven't really been sure about how to approach you on it. You've been here almost since the beginning, so you're familiar with the wiki's practices, but more and more, it feels like you find something in the news and dump it here without a lot of effort made into its presentation.

We're not Wikipedia. There's only a handful of folks regularly looking at RecentChanges to make fixes to new content, as opposed to Wikipedia where thousands of people are constantly poring over recent activity. Sometimes, it's possible that something may not get looked at at all either because we're all busy with something else, or it just flies in under the radar.

I expect a higher level of diligence from you. You need to take extra steps to be sure new articles are titled properly, that there's enough info to justify an article in the first place, that you're showing your sources, following our manual of style, and including visuals when they're available.

The content you're adding is good, but Muppet Wiki should mean something more to you than just a junk drawer you stuff a handful of penny candy into and forget about.

  • Hi Nick, for 11 years now we've used 300 pixels as the preferred size of images that get aligned to the right side of an article.

Also, pages for people need to be alphabetized in categories by their last name.

Take a look at the two edits I made to your recently added article to see what I mean.
