  • Hi there. What's the source for this note you added here? As written, it sounds a bit vague. Is it referencing a specific Sesame Street episode, book or other production where that happens?

  • Hi. Just wanted to remind you that edits to the wiki must adhere to our NPOV policy.

Please look it over as well as our Policies and Guidelines.

The admins here have had to point this out to you several times now, please respond here so we know you understand this policy and why it's important. Thanks.

  • Hi. This is potentially a good addition, but the wording you chose requires you provide examples.

  • Hi, what's your source for this edit? I can't seem to verify it with any online translators.

  • Hi, I just wanted to make sure you were aware of changes made to some of the articles you've contributed to that some folks have had to roll back. Please take a look at the histories (linked as "hist") in your contributions to see the changes made after your edits. Some of them have edit summaries explaining why your changes were reverted. If you have any questions as to why, please feel free to on that person's message wall (linked as "wall" next to their username). Thanks!

The more you look around the wiki, the more you'll see examples of the manual of style used here. Please also read the FAQ and Muppet Wiki:Policies and Guidelines.

    • For example, here are the differences on two pages addressed in a conversation below:

In both cases, we expanded your addition so that the reader has more information about the claim in the case that the source becomes unavailable.

    • Well that makes sense.

  • Hi, on Muppet Wiki, we need to source everything that's not within the film or show itself. For your additions to Gary, you need to include a link to whichever text or video interview you're referring to (and ideally a date). See Muppet Wiki:Citations for more on how we handle sources and citation. If you're going by memory, it can't be used.

You're also still getting rather POV (point of view) in your wording (your latest additions get into that, unless you can quote "not letting the person you love leave you" as something explicitly stated and so on, rather than choosing which relationship to prioritize which is how the film and dialogue frame it). Please re-read the previous notes and links, and also respond here so we know you understand. Thanks!

    • Hi, when adding a reference, please include details about the source. Just the link alone won't do. If that youtube video goes away some day, we won't know where the information comes from. In this example, you should include the content creator (usually the youtube channel name unless it's a re-upload) and the date.

The more you look around the wiki, the more you'll see examples of the manual of style used here. Please also read the FAQ.

  • Hi! Please take a look at the edit summaries on the Clifford article to see the notes other editors have made following your additions.

Also, it's not necessary to add character traits to articles that mention the character unless it's directly connected to the topic (as in this series of edits).

And please be sure to adhere to our NPOV policy. Thanks!

  • Hi! Just to explain in case you wonder, we had to revert your changes to The Street We Live On. It's fine to note inconsistencies, as we did, but we don't editorialize about them. That doesn't mean you're wrong, just that we want to be encyclopedic in tone, so phrases like "it doesn't make sense" violate that. You can read about Neutral Point of View (or NPOV) here. While we don't always follow the same rules as Wikipedia (and have plenty of our own), that's one we've kept (both to maintain a neutral, facts-only tone and to avoid conflicts because one user's opinion differs from another; if we allow one, even if we as individuals might agree with it, then we'd have to allow edits like "Many people think Elmo is a terrible character" or "The worst Muppet movie is...")

I noticed you'd made a similar edit before, so I thought I'd clarify the policy. Feel free to point out inconsistencies or errors, but just don't use POV words like "strangely" etc. or get too far into giving your own personal opinion. (We save that for forums and the like, or when called for, we link to or quote reviews and so on.) Thanks, and I hope this explains things.
