  • Yay, new images! Did you get an advance copy of the Blu-ray?

I have a few requests when you have time. 1. Berlin citizens when Kermit is arrested (several credited extras there). 2. Jean-Pierre Napoleon's family, in the vacation scene. (Through resume searching, I found the actress who plays his wife!) 3. Gonzo's trumpet gag with the soccer ball. (For that page, or an eventual soccer page, plus I'm starting a page for Andres Cantor, whose vocal cameo is heard shouting "GOOOOOOOOAL" in that scene.)

More later, no doubt, and I'm loving all the gaps you're filling in.

    • Sort of :) Just the movie for now, but it's 1920x1080 with very little compression, so good for screencaps.

I already got the Napoleons -- I'll be sure to get those others.

  • Hi, Scott! Where did you get the Betsy Baytos image? Is it from the "Of Muppets and Men" special? An inactive user, with no explanation, some time back added "Betsy Baytos as Singing Fish" to Episode 524: Roger Moore.

Anthony saw it and changed Baytos' categorization to Muppet Performer, based on that listing. However, I wanted to check first. I have a vague memory of seeing the recording of "You Light Up My Life," and the image looks like it *might* have been from that, but it's good to be sure (and as was often the case with pre-recorded tracks, she may not have puppeteered for the final bit, so we might want to be more specific). I added a cite tag to Episode 524 for now, and if I find my copy, I'll check myself (the other likely suspect would be Henson's Place).

But if you can clarify, please do!

    • Yes, that is indeed from OMaM, and they are recording for You Light Up My Life, so yes, she voiced a Singing Fish. I'm upgrading the screenshot now.

    • Oh, correction: I was confused because it's a very similar recording scene in the doc. Baytos is actually recording for "In the Navy". So, I don't know if she's doing a character, or just part of the chorus.

  • The photo of Roger Moore is back up on the Episode 524: Roger Moore page. It's the first one in the photo gallery (Moore01.jpg is the name of the file). Moore and the Pig should be facing the other way as per the other photos (Moore is wearing a ring that should be on his left hand.)

  • I don't know why I haven't been using your "Dates" subpage for the Tumblr. It's made queueing posts a lot more easier.

    • Oh, good! I'm glad you're getting some use out of it. I'm hardly ever smart enough to remember to schedule posts on FB. I usually just look at it in the morning for inspiration.

  • Hello again sir,I posted a message in response to getting IP banned on this forum about a month ago and got no response. I am here to ask again to be unbanned. I promise that I will not vandalize the forum again, and I would genuinely like to become a contributer here. I am a huge fan of the Muppets and would like to share the knowledge I have with the community. I hope you will accept my apology and unban me.

  • Hi,

Just to let you know I went and re-uploaded your b/w photo of Doug Henning.  It had actually been published back-to-front - the ring should be on Henning's left hand not right.  Also the colour pic on the episode page shows that Miss Piggy should have been on Doug's right, not left.  Hope that makes sense.

  • Hey, lately in at least a couple of discussions or more, hiding the talk pages has been a minor issue for users who haven't been here for many old discussions, and who don't think to look for a talk page.

I know this was to stop their use, but I wonder if there's something we could do, I'm especially thinking of category talk pages which outline policy. I'm thinking maybe a template or subcat of Category:Muppet Wiki to identify those pages (which will also help us when some of them are in ancient community discussion pages). It's not our biggest issue right now (and still won't solve problems like "Why is so and so's performer listed as someone else here?" since we can't and shouldn't try to anticipate all of those.)

But for many which represent the step-by-step parts of major projects, and someone coming here years later doesn't understand, it might be useful to gradually put them someplace for easier reference, and also whenever we need to update the Policies and Guidelines page. Just a thought.

    • I think not knowing to look at a talk page to find out why we do or don't do something has always been a problem for new-to-wiki folks. I don't think hiding the deprecated button changes that, but it does help highlight the existing issue for us.

I agree that it would be nice to keep the policies section updated. What do you think of categorizing the relevant talk pages as Category:Policies as a (from your suggestion) subcat of Category:Muppet Wiki?

    • I think that's perfect. It will also help us because we know how many times we've had to look for an old discussion, found it... then can't find it the next time we need to explain something to someone.

Some, like talk pages explaining category definitions or guidelines specific to a single area don't really need to be in the actual policies pages, but others affecting more general style or "What gets a page" do. So this way we can find them but also, when needed, gradually merge or include the relevant link. So that's a perfect solution.

  • Take a look at Sergei Rachmaninoff. The poster's a fun find (I noticed it while doing voice comparisons for the Spanish GMC dub, most match with the 1990s dubs and a couple cameos used actors I'm familiar with, though I'll have to put out some queries to figure out Lady Holiday, Beauregard and others).

But since it shows Liszt on the program, that's enough of a reference, combined with the pieces performed, to merit a page.

  • Hey, did you hide the Start a Discussion entry point on article pages? I couldn't figure out how to start a discussion when there's no talk page or module at the bottom of the page to start a forum thread.
