  • I've seen that you've compiled the guides to many season two episodes from scripts. For years, I have wondered if Herry Monster was named back when he had his furry blue nose or if he was just a generic blue monster, like how Cookie Monster and Grover started out. I've noticed in the segments where he has his furry blue nose he's never referred to by name (but would be referred to by name by the time it changed from furry to smooth), there are a few segments from those days when he was dressed in a wig and pretty much a different character, and of course in the "Up and Down" song the puppet was used lip-synching to the album recording despite it having Jim Henson's vocals, surely if he was meant to be a character then they could have used a different monster puppet. Jerry Nelson otherwise always performed Herry from the start, but Cookie Monster and Grover (and Beautiful Day Monster) were all usually performed by Frank Oz in the first season even though they were more-or-less generic monster characters back then as well.

So is Herry Monster referred to by name in early season two episodes where he has a furry blue nose?

    • Herry's name appears in the scripts for 132, 149 and 160.

Also: your inquiries are super long and tiring to read. Please be more succinct next time.

    • Thanks for the answer. It's something I had been wondering for quite a while.

I guess sometimes when I have things to say I want to be sure I bring up everything I see as important (like why I might ask in the first place), and I tend to see a lot of value in the small details.

  • Howdy! When you get a chance, can you check the dialogue from Episode 2980, Scene 2? The script has a lamb paraphrasing Neil Armstrong's "one small step" quote and I want to be sure it ended up in the final episode before adding it as a reference.

  • Hello :)

The street story to episode #3607 seems particularly interesting. Is there any way you could send me the video footage to the street scenes if you have it? (Or maybe you could send it to Sesame Maniac, so he can upload it to YouTube?)

    Thanks in advance ;)

  • Heya, my information on the episode says the "Alone Song" appears after the Clever Bill 'toon.

Is this a mistake or an oversight on your end?

    • The signal on my copy drops out after that segment, and the dropout lasts almost a minute, so it's possible. Naturally I assumed the gap included part of the next street scene.

    • That seems like enough evidence to me.

  • It was such a great surprise seeing this on the tape's page.  I recalled having this one as a kid, but had lost it over time. For years I've been wanting to see it again, hoping to relive one of my favorite Muppet childhood memories.

Guille, a million thank yous for reuniting me with my preschool self once again.

  • Thanks for filling in Episode 0543!

Exciting thing about that Pirate Chest entry: it's listed as VTR in my document. Perhaps an Anything Muppets Pirate sketch we've never seen?

  • So cool that you have info on Episode 0372. One thing I wonder is, does your source for the shows rundown include the earliest-known appearances of the segments listed (obviously not counting segments that first appear in that episode)? I noticed there's an EKA for the Harvey Kneeslapper sketch (which, from looking at editing history, was previously listed as something like "Alphabet Blackout C") but the page for that episode doesn't mention that sketch appearing (and I looked and re-looked a few times).
