Kermit Love with Max Mekker in Norway.

Max Mekker is a character on Sesam Stasjon, the Norwegian co-production of Sesame Street, which takes place in a train station.

Max Mekker is a laid-back and easygoing blue-furred creature who works as a repairman at the station, his main job being to do repairs and maintenance jobs as they're needed. However, he also performs many other physical tasks around the station, such as stocking crates, polishing the train tracks, and occasionally helping passengers with their luggage. In his spare time he likes to tinker ("mekke" in Norwegian, hence the name), and over the course of the show, he's designed and built many strange machines; some of which are useful, others of which aren't. He's also a passionate fan of Norwegian singer Maj Britt Andersen, and was thrilled when she made a guest appearance on the show.

Max has a certain fondness for speaking in rhyme, and often - but not always - refers to himself in third person. His age is uncertain, but in one episode he was revealed to be "too young to begin school yet," which disappointed him to no end.

After young Py joined the cast in later seasons, Max took on a sort of "bigger brother" role towards her, trying to keep her out of trouble whenever he could.

Max, along with his co-stars, appeared in a special New Year's Eve report from Norway in the special Sesame Street Stays Up Late. His voice was dubbed into English by Jim Martin.

The workshop thought that Geir Børresen was too tall for the puppet to work. So in order to fit in the costume he walks around with bent knees, almost lowering his height by 50 centimeters (almost 20 inches).[1]
