Mario is an Anything Muppet boy from Sesame Street. He appears in episode 2062, where Gordon helps him read the words "mop" and "tub" by singing "Sound It Out."
Mario also appears in an insert segment (EKA: Episode 2096), writing a letter to his Aunt Polly when the point of his pencil breaks. Mario finds the pencil useless without it's point and leaves it idle while looking for his pencil sharpener. Then, the Two-Headed Monster happens by and explores different uses for the pencil (as a magic wand, a conductor's baton, etc.).
In another segment, he and another Anything Muppet perform breathing exercises in the arbor.
