Marijke Boon performed Troel during the second season of Sesamstraat, the Dutch co-production of Sesame Street.

Troel was dropped after one season, supposedly because the producers found her too feminine for a show that dealt with female emancipation.

Marijke Boon is currently active as a Dutch cabaret performer.
