Jim Henson and Rowlf did promotional work for the stamp's launch, and a drawing of Rowlf was featured on the collectible First Day cover, issued January 30th, 1986. Guy Gilchrist, who drew the Jim Henson's Muppets Comic Strip, did the art for the First Day cover.
