Grover digs through his toy box to show all of the "resting places" for different parts of the body he has. These include spots for an elbow, an ear, a nose, a forehead, a thumb, a bellybutton, and both hands. At the bottom of the box Grover finds his favorite resting place of all: a resting place for Grover. Ignoring the mess he has made he curls up on the resting spot to sleep until morning.
Notes
- Among the items that Grover digs out of his toybox is sheet music for "Sing", Groucho Marx glasses, and a framed pictures of Ernie and Bert.
- The picture of Grover's Aunt Polly on the wall reacts to the mess he is making.
- This book is done in a comic book style, plus breaking the forth wall by having Grover directly address the reader via word balloons, in a manner similar to The Monster at the End of This Book (1971) and Would You Like to Play Hide & Seek in This Book With Lovable, Furry Old Grover? (1976), both by the same author/illustrator team as this book.
