Lillias White as Lillian
Lillias White (b. July 21, 1951) played Lillian Edwards on Sesame Street from 1989 through 1993, and was also the lead singer of The Squirrelles. She received an Emmy Award for the role in 1992.
Lillias White is best known for her work as a Broadway actress, portraying Miss Jones in the revival of How to Succeed Without Really Trying, Sonja in The Life, for which she won a Tony Award, and Effie in Dreamgirls. Her film roles include the voice of the lead Muse in Disney's animated feature Hercules and a small part in How the Grinch Stole Christmas, plus television appearances on Law and Order and NYPD Blue.
