Les Muppets is the French dub of The Muppets. The film was originally going to be released to theaters on February 15, 2012, but it was changed to April 11, 2012. Shortly afterwards, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures France announced that the film will not be shown in French cinemas, but through their home entertainment division, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment France, it will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray on May 2, 2012 under the title Les Muppets, le retour. Later on, Disney France did announced that a private screening of the film will be seen in French cinemas on April 24, 2012.

The extensive promotional campaign included two Muppet notebooks, two Muppet kits, two sheets of Muppet stickers, four Muppet T-shirts, a Muppet shoulder bag featuring Miss Piggy and a set of five Muppet bookmarks featuring Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal, Fozzie Bear and Gonzo.
