FRAME 1
Big Bird welcomes the viewer and explains that he must learn to add and subtract very quickly. He has set up four spoons in groups of two, but he can't add them together. Maria comes by to help and helps him count them together, adding them.

Big Bird adds the spoons on his own; next, Maria wants him to add cookies. Maria explains that adding works the same no matter what you're adding.

A mother bird adds her eggs that hatch.

Once again, Big Bird adds the cookies on his own. Maria now has him add crayons, which is still the same as adding spoons and cookies. He is amazed at how many things one can add.
