Lady Holiday is the wealthy British fashion designer in The Great Muppet Caper. Lady Holiday possesses a collection of fabulous jewelry as well as a tart tongue and attitude towards her models. The initial theft of the Holiday jewels sets the plot in motion, motivating Kermit the Frog to seek an interview with her. Miss Piggy, an aspiring model, shows Lady Holiday her portfolio, but is content to function as her receptionist instead. Piggy later encourages Kermit's mistaken assumption that she is Lady Holiday.
Though a successful designer of posh clothing, Lady Holiday refers to having also inherited wealth, and likely her title. The other half of the family fortune was wasted by her sponging brother, Nicky, for whom she still posseses tinges of grudging affection and family feeling. Unbeknownst to her, Nicky is the jewel thief who robs her yet again and attempts to pin the rap on Miss Piggy.
During their interview, Lady Holiday provides Miss Piggy with extremely detailed information regarding her brother's habits and trustworthiness, their relationship, and her prized jewel the Fabulous Baseball Diamond, among other points. When Piggy asks why she's telling her all this, Lady Holiday's reply is to the point: "It's plot exposition. It has to go somewhere."
