L. Frank Baum

Lyman Frank Baum (1856 – 1919) was an American author and playwright best known as the creator of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Baum also wrote and published Mother Goose in Prose (1897), a collection of twenty-two nursery rhymes written as prose stories and illustrated by Maxfield Parrish. Fourteen of these stories were adapted as episodes for Jim Henson's Mother Goose Stories.
