L. Frank Baum

Lyman Frank Baum (1856 – 1919) was an American author, actor, and independent filmmaker best known as the creator of "The Wizard of Oz". He also wrote and published Mother Goose in Prose (1897), a collection of nursery rhymes written as prose stories and illustrated by Maxfield Parrish. 14 of these 22 short stories were adapted as episodes for Jim Henson's Mother Goose Stories.
