Bruce is a grayish-blue monster with a pink nose. He appeared on Sesame Street from the mid 1970s to the early 1980s. In later appearances, he was modified with a slightly happier expression (turned-up eyebrows) and a green nose. He gets his name from the 1979 version of a sketch about "First and Last," where he was performed by Jim Henson.
He was referred to as "Kermit the Grof" in The Wonderful World of T-Shirts sketch where Kermit the Frog went to buy a personalized t-shirt. Jerry Nelson performed him in this sketch.
