Kenny Rogers (b. 1938) is a popular American country singer who guest starred on The Muppet Show episode 410.
Hits include "The Gambler," "Lucille," "Coward of the County," and the number-one singles "Lady" and "Islands in the Stream" (the latter a duet with Dolly Parton). He performed "The Gambler" on The Muppet Show.
Rogers' song "Buy Me a Rose" went to #1 on Billboard's country singles chart in 1999. The same year, Rogers was awarded the Recording Industry Association of America's prestigious Diamond Award, celebrating sales of more than 10 million copies of his "Greatest Hits" album in 1999.
