Jones is a supporting repertory player from the Muppet Meeting Films who was first performed by David Rudman. He debuted in the 1992 entry "Executive's Island," in which he played the role of the frantic boat spotter whose pleas to send SOS messages are ignored. In "The Meeting That Would Not Die," Jones joined Shirley and Wesley as captive audience members.

In "Now Hear This!," Jones was renamed Plattner, and changed performers.
