John Kavanagh is a character actor who played the wily beggar in The StoryTeller episode "A Story Short."
Kavanagh's film and TV credits, ranging back to the 1970s, include The McKenzie Break (with Horst Janson), Braveheart (with Mel Gibson), Into the West, Alexander, and The Black Dahlia. He has often been cast as clergymen, in the likes of The Tudors (recurring as Cardinal Campeggio), Sharpe's Sword (as Father Curtis), and the films Widow's Peak (a canon) and A Love Divided (a bishop), to name a few. Other TV credits include appearances on Lovejoy, Maigret, and The Irish RM.
