John Astin (b. 1930) is an actor perhaps best known for playing the role of Gomez Addams on The Addams Family television series during the 1960s. Other television roles have included characters on The Twilight Zone, Night Court, Dennis the Menace, and The Love Boat, and he was the second actor to portray the villainous character "Riddler" on the 1960s Batman series. In film, his credits range from West Side Story (uncredited as Gladhand) to The Frighteners (with Michael J. Fox, as an old-Western gunslinger called "The Judge").
He appeared in Muppet Magazine issue 5, paired with Lew Zealand in "The Second Great Muppet Look-Alike Contest."
