Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750) was a German composer, organist, harpsichordist, violist, and violinist during the Baroque period.

In episode 0001 of Sesame Street, his composition "Gavotte" is performed by the Swingle Singers, during a film about cleaning. In a UK spot of The Muppet Show, aired with episode 514, Rowlf the Dog plays Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring", but gets interrupted by Beauregard.
