Joeyheatherton

Joey Heatherton (b. 1944) is a singer and dancer, known for her energetic movements and often provocative attire and behavior. She appeared with Perry Como, Art Carney, and the Muppets in the 1972 special The Perry Como Winter Show, joining her co-stars, King Goshposh, and Featherstone in the song "Keep It Down."

Following her first big break as a teenager in 1959 on The Perry Como Show, Heatherton became a popular guest on the variety show circuit, including Hollywood Palace and The Ed Sullivan Show, often flirting with the likes of Como and Dean Martin. She also accompanied Bob Hope on USO tours. In the 1970s, Heatherton suffered professional and personal setbacks, with a starring role in The Happy Hooker Goes to Washington and commercials for RC Cola and Serta mattresses as career highlights. She was loosely parodied on SCTV as the emotionally unstable, questionably talented Lola Heatherton, but was one of many "cult" performers re-discovered by John Waters, playing a disapproving parent in his 1990 film Cry-Baby.
