Jim Henson's Red Book is a blog added to Henson.com on September 24, 2010. The blog features excerpts from Jim Henson's personal journals. Selected entries are enhanced with additional historical information, pictures, videos and links curated by The Jim Henson Company Archives. The blog remained active until ceasing posts in November 2014.

The entries from the Red Book blog were distributed at the time by an official Henson Company Twitter account and Facebook page.

A 2012 book by Henson archivist Karen Falk, Imagination Illustrated: The Jim Henson Journal, adapts excerpts from Henson's diary along with additional sketches, photographs, and behind-the-scenes information.

Background[]

In June 1965, 28-year-old Jim Henson started a written log of his activities in what became known as "The Red Book." Henson wrote down what had happened up until that point in his career and life, and then continued to note the events that he felt were worth recording with single line journal entries. Henson stopped recording events in the Red Book sometime around the end of 1988.
