Jan Rosenthal is a University of Connecticut graduate in Puppetry. In 1978, Rosenthal began working at Henson as a puppet builder and designer.

Rosenthal left Henson in 1987 to pursue a career in toy design and was hired by Fisher Price. Today she is a freelance toy inventor and designer.
