Jan Hofer (b.1952) anchorman on the ARD news. He appeared on Sesamstrasse in episode 2468, were he was interviewed by Wolle, about what a news anchorman does.

He further made a guest appearance as himself in Das Geheimnis der Blumenfabrik, Sesamstrasse spin-off Eine Möhre für Zwei's 2013 TV movie. During a live-broadcast of ARD news Tagesschau, Hofer gets ambushed by Wolle and Pferd, who alarm the public on their park's impending doom and make a public plea for a peaceful demonstration.

Hofer has worked on television since 1970. During his career he has hosted various shows during his career they include Showbiss ("Showbite") from 1987 to 1989, the NDR-Talkshow from 1989 to 1991 and Jazz-Musikreihe from 1990 to 1993.
