James Taylor and the band with Oscar

James Taylor (b. 1948) is a folk singer who has appeared on Sesame Street in 1979 and 1980. He sang "That Grouchy Face," "Up on the Roof," and his own composition, "Jellyman Kelly," with lyrics by wife Carly Simon and daughter Sally Taylor on backup.

Taylor contributed a "Baked Bluefish Fillets" recipe for Miss Piggy's 1996 cookbook, In the Kitchen with Miss Piggy.

He also guest starred in The Ghost of Faffner Hall episode Notation: The Sign That Gets the Sound.

James' brother is Livingston Taylor, also a singer/songwriter.
