James Mason (1909-1984) was a British actor who could project sophistication or suave menace, and starred in many classic films, including Odd Man Out (1946), A Star is Born (1954), 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954), Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest (1959), Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959), Lolita (1962) and Verdict (1982).
In 1983, he played a demon in the Sesame Street special Don't Eat the Pictures.
