Galway

James Galway

Sir James Galway (b. 1939) is an Irish flute player.

In Sesame Street’s 13th season, Galway appeared in a segment with Big Bird.[1] In another segment, described by the New York Times, he and Maria perform "in formal attire, he on his famous flute and she on an inflatable toy that makes no sound until its air is forced out when the artists take their bow." [2] He also appeared in a segment with a boy named Malcolm, playing music as Malcolm describes taking a walk based on the music he plays. (EKA: Episode 1957)

He also appeared in a "Pretty Great Performances" segment on Sesame Street, playing a song by Johann Sebastian Fox with the All-Animal Chamber Music ensemble.

Galway contributed a "Thai-Cooked Prawns" recipe for Miss Piggy's 1996 cookbook, In the Kitchen with Miss Piggy.
