James Cromwell (b. 1940) is an actor who appeared as Farmer Arthur Hoggett in Babe. Although Farmer Hoggett was the lead human character, Cromwell received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, acknowledging his subsidiary role to the pig.

Cromwell's other credits include multiple stints in the Star Trek franchise, in guest spots on The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, and as Dr. Zefram Cochrane in the feature film First Contact. He also portrayed a hard-nosed prison warden in The Green Mile and the remake of The Longest Yard.
