PERFORMER | Richard Hunt |
Jacques Shoesteau is interviewed in Dicky Tick's show In, On and Under, in which Tick visits Shoesteau's fabuluous underchair world. (EKA: Episode 2970)
A noted French-accented explorer of the world's underplaces, Jacques has been beneath every piece of furniture in the house. His next expedition will explore under the rug, from beneath which he cheerfully expects he might never be seen again.
The character is a parody of undersea explorer Jacques Cousteau.
The same shoe puppet (also played by Richard Hunt, sans accent) had previously appeared in a sketch with Guy Smiley, as a guest at a banquet in honor of the "SH" sound.
