Jack is the titular character from Jack and the Beanstalk. He appears in a 2010 episode of Sesame Street, unable to act out his story. With the help of Leela and Telly, he is able to sell his cow (and other items) for some beans and learns how to make them grow. After he makes his beanstalk, he decides not to harm the plant by climbing it and instead vows to change his story and start his own beanstalk farm.
Years earlier, Jack had previously appeared in a Sesame Street News Flash segment, this time as a Lavender muppet performed by Richard Hunt. While scrambling frantically down the beanstalk, he meets Kermit on his way up. He advises Kermit "I wouldn't go up there if I were you." Kermit is soon to find out why Jack gave that piece of advice.
