Sesame Street J Friends

The Anything Muppets sing "J Friends."

"J Friends" is a Sesame Street song sung by the Anything Muppets, who list their friends whose names begin with the letter J. The names include Joe, Jane, Jim and Joan.

These singers were performed by Jerry Nelson (the Pumpkin J Friend) , Jim Henson (the Fat Blue J Friend), Fran Brill (the Lavender J Friend) and Frank Oz (the Green J Friend).

The names in the song also happen to be the names of notable people behind the scenes: Joe (Raposo), Jane (Henson), Jim (Henson) and Joan (Ganz Cooney).

In a Season 43 episode, Elmo and Rosita sang an abridged version of the song with an orange letter J (performed by Leslie Carrara-Rudolph).

Notes

  • Following his verse, the Fat Blue singer's right eye comes loose, forcing him to leave the frame for a bit to have it re-attached.
